Will yearns not for reality but for imagination
Crafting a world of potentiality upon goods unrealized and underdefined
Upon an entropic stage, will frivolously asserts itself with incantations
And yet symphonic providence incorporates wants myriad, however unrefined
Will preys upon the shifting foundations of life, promising security
Building towers upon dirt, and yet still they cannot stand
The more mysticism fails, the angrier will becomes, shouting epithets in minds and from thoughts wrenching forth purity
And yet no true good can be rendered from its misguided demand
All true good is pre-existent and must be recognized, not built
Just as a Tower to Heaven pales in comparison to the divine that inhabits everyday enchantment — Heaven coming to us
Wedding will to love tames and civilizes it, beast to beauty upon the rose’s wilt
From the shaky habitations of will’s towers rises a brilliant truss
