"I once was on a walk with a troubled mind dragging alongside me. The longer I journeyed, the more shiny things there were to grasp by and by. I filled myself and heavied my back until, staring blankly at an oncoming bend in the road, I realized all that I had was worthless. “What ought I to do,” I thought. I considered dropping everything, but then what would the walk have been for? I carried on somewhat mindlessly, still pondering, when the following words met my mind as they now meet my lips:"
The stars are always just around the bend
The curvature of greatness, or naught, defining the life sorry-lived
From lowly stumbling can sanctification finally rend
When to the broken one salvation is just around the bend
Turns taken, shaken, and torn asunder
Only to repeat the same path, trajectory, and the self-same blunder
Progress assumed, confidence seeded
Only to behold the same bend, untaken yet needed
When, upon a time, a flower may surmount
The rocky outcroppings of this tread’s spiritual drought
Grace applied as between old friends
Meets the tarnished sojourning of life’s bends
